Welcome to ooolook photography, I’m Jill! Thank you for taking an interest in booking a photography session to document and share this wonderful new time in your lives. I’d love to get to know your family.

My goal with maternity sessions is to show the beauty and love a mother is feeling during this very special time. I want to capture the bond forming between her and baby as well as the love the father-to-be is expressing. I strive to show the unique dynamic of each individual family I work with.

My approach is organic and lifestyle; I want you to be in a comfortable setting to be yourselves. But I can also offer extra direction to capture that perfect portrait if desired. I use natural lighting whenever possible; I feel that it produces the most genuine look as I capture your family’s journey as authentically as possible. I book sessions anywhere in the Los Angeles area.

Booking and Payment

Everyone and every body is different, but the ideal time to book a maternity session is between 30 and 36 weeks, and depends on how quickly your body is changing.

Photo shoots occur on Saturdays and Sundays. I offer two time slots for outdoor sessions: morning or evening. I will determine available start times that provide the best natural lighting for your session — usually just after sunrise or before sunset. You can request your own location or pick from my list of common outdoor locations. Indoor sessions can be scheduled on an individual basis. I also offer a more intimate maternity boudoir option.

I do not charge a travel fee for shoots in Los Angeles County. For shoots outside of LA, I will determine travel fees at the time of booking.

Half the cost of the photography session is due when scheduling the session and reserves your date. I will also have you sign my standard contract and model release when booking. The remaining balance is due prior to receiving any digital files from the session. Payments can be made through my website.

You are purchasing edited and stylized digital files of your images only. I provide you with high and low resolution JPG files of the images from your session gallery as a digital download. You are obtaining digital files for personal use only, and may not sell prints.

Albums or prints can be purchased separately from within your online session gallery.

If for any reason you need to cancel or reschedule the session please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. All deposits are nonrefundable. There is a rebooking fee, but I’d be happy to work with you on selecting a new date and time.

At the Session

Once we've arrived at our agreed upon location, whether it’s your home or an outdoor area, I will spend a few minutes getting to know you a bit more before starting the shoot. This helps everyone feel more at ease.

For outdoor sessions, it is extremely important to arrive to your session at least 10 minutes early. The sun doesn't wait, and I want the best light possible for your photos. Please avoid bringing anything more than you absolutely need during your session. I am happy to hold keys and phones or other small items to keep pockets empty in your photographs. No sunglasses; they get in the way and risk being damaged if we’re trying to store them. I want you to be free of items so I can get the best photographs of your family.

Your wardrobe should be anything you feel comfortable in.

If you’d like to schedule a more intimate maternity boudoir session to show all the beautiful details of your pregnancy, I offer an add-on option to your package. If you are unsure this is for you, please remember… maternity is beautiful, and so are you! You deserve to feel comfortable in your body and pregnancy boudoir photos are a great way of boosting your confidence while celebrating this momentous occasion in your life. Show only as much skin as you’re comfortable with, and I only share images from boudoir sessions with your permission. A simple wardrobe is best. A pair of black panties, a black bra, a white button down shirt, and a pair of panties to match your skin tone. Other optional items are favorite lingerie, silky pajamas, flowing skirts, or sheer blouses.

After Your Session

Within three weeks you will receive an email from me containing a link to a private online gallery of the photographs from your session. It will also provide the final payment information. After receiving final payment, you will be able to download the edited and stylized high resolution (200ppi) and web-optimized digital JPG files from your gallery.

Additional albums or prints can be purchased separately from within your online gallery.

I keep my edits minimal and do minor retouching and processing of photos in Adobe's Lightroom and Photoshop programs. This includes removing minor blemishes, doing color correction and minor skin smoothing, and adjusting clarity and vibrance. You may request additional retouching on your photos for a fee based on the work required.
