Outdoor Locations
You can request your own location within the Los Angeles area that is special to you, or take inspiration from the list of outdoor locations below. I am also happy to venture to a more urban location as well; there is a plethora of nice art and structures in Los Angeles that would make great backdrops. I shoot natural light photography because it looks more genuine, therefore outdoor sessions work great. Local parks usually don’t require any additional permits to shoot at, but if you are interested in shooting at a location that requires a permit you are responsible for obtaining and covering the cost of the permit.
Indoor sessions can also be arranged if preferred.
PALISADES PARK — Ocean Ave. Santa Monica, CA 90401
Great ocean views from above without being in the sand or water. This is a popular location for tourist and athletes so earlier session times work best.
TONGVA PARK — 1615 Ocean Ave. Santa Monica, CA 90401
This park offers a lot of options and is full of beautiful landscaping. There are numerous nooks which allow us to find areas to be by ourselves even on a crowded day.
VENICE PUBLIC ART WALLS/GRAFFITI WALLS — Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA 90291 (at the end of Windward Ave.)
If you love art and the hustle of Venice Beach, then this location is perfect. It offers a chance to discover new murals and backdrops that are creative and colorful. The beach is also steps away to catch a dynamic sunset.
BURTON CHACE PARK — 13650 Mindanao Way
Marina Del Rey, CA 90292
This gem of a park is nestled within the marina and has some great areas that incorporate the green of the park with the nautical backdrop.
BALLONA CREEK/MARINA CHANNEL/LAGOON — Pacific Ave. at 62nd Ave. Playa Del Rey, CA
This area offers some lovely backdrops with the grassy lagoon, sand dunes, ballona creek channel, and beach. It also has a great playground to end the session with some fun.
Ishihara Park — 2909 Exposition Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90404
Tucked away next to the expo line, this park is great and usually not crowded. It has nice foliage and urban surfaces to work with. There is also good street parking along the park.
Fox Hills Park — Green Valley Cir & Buckingham Parkway
Culver City, CA 90230
Wonderful park with lots of green to highlight your family. With its size, there are always places to get away on our own to avoid the crowds.
BALLONA DISCOVERY PARK — 13110 Bluff Creek Dr.
Los Angeles, CA 90094
A slightly unconventional park which adds character to your session. The discovery park has sculptures and various short trail loops around to explore and enjoy.
