Welcome to ooolook photography, I’m Jill! Thank you for taking an interest in booking a photography session with me. No occasion is too small to document it with beautiful photographs—whether you are celebrating a birthday, milestone, or event, I’d love to get to know your family.

My goal is to show the fun dynamic of each family I work with and capture all the little details of your event. My approach is organic and lifestyle; I want you to be in a comfortable setting to be yourselves. But, I can also offer extra direction to capture that perfect family portrait if desired. I use natural lighting whenever possible, and book sessions anywhere in the Los Angeles area.

Booking and Payment

Please contact me as early as possible with the date and location of your event to ensure availability. If the location of your event is not at a residence, please verify and obtain any photography permits and/or requirements with the vendor; you are responsible for the cost of any permits.

I do not charge a travel fee for shoots in Los Angeles County. For shoots outside of LA, I will determine travel fees at the time of booking.

Half the cost of the photography session is due when scheduling the session and reserves your date. I will also have you sign my standard contract and model release when booking. The remaining balance is due prior to receiving any digital files from the session. Payments can be made through my website.

You are purchasing edited and stylized digital files of your images only. I provide you with high and low resolution JPG files of the images from your session gallery as a digital download. You are obtaining digital files for personal use only, and may not sell prints.

Albums or prints can be purchased separately from within your online session gallery.

If for any reason you need to cancel or reschedule the session please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. All deposits are nonrefundable. There is a rebooking fee, but I’d be happy to work with you on selecting a new date and time.

At the Session

Once we've arrived at our agreed upon location, I will spend a few minutes getting to know you and your family a bit more before starting the shoot. This helps everyone, especially children, feel more at ease.

If your event is a party: I will spend some time taking photographs of all the details before the party begins. I will capture overall shots, guest of honor portrait, family portrait(s), and candid shots during activities.

If your event doesn’t include a party: I will treat it as a family session to document the special day and get guest of honor portraits and family portraits. If it is held at a venue that allows photography, I’m happy to get some photographs during any ceremony if possible.

Your wardrobe should feel comfortable. Test out your outfit beforehand, and make sure it won’t lead to any tugging or pulling on while you move around. Confidence is key when it comes to photo sessions, so it’s not the best time to try something completely new to you. Go for what you know, so that you’re not worried about how you look the entire session.

If we aren’t at a venue, please avoid bringing anything more than you absolutely need during your session. I am happy to hold keys and phones or other small items to keep pockets empty in your photographs. No sunglasses; they get in the way and risk being damaged if we’re trying to store them. I understand with little ones a diaper bag or a small snack is needed, but please try to limit it to the bare necessities; I want you to be free of items so I can get the best photographs of your family.

If you have a family dog that is okay around other people and well behaved, and you’d like them to join you for your session that is great! Please supply treats and a toy I can use to hold your pet’s attention for portraits. Arrange someone that can safely hold and care for your pet when they are not joining in shots— they will not be in every photo so this is important.

After Your Session

Within three weeks you will receive an email from me containing a link to a private online gallery of the photographs from your event. It will also provide the final payment information. After receiving final payment, you will be able to download the edited and stylized high resolution (200ppi) and web-optimized digital JPG files from your gallery.

Additional albums or prints can be purchased separately from within your online gallery.

I keep my edits minimal and do minor retouching and processing of photos in Adobe's Lightroom and Photoshop programs. This includes removing minor blemishes, doing color correction and minor skin smoothing, and adjusting clarity and vibrance. You may request additional retouching on your photos for a fee based on the work required.
